Robber's Cave
Robber's Cave is a natural wonder known for its fascinating rock formations and intriguing history. It is situated close to Dehradun in Uttarakhand, India. This 600-metre-long cave was created by the damaging force of flowing water and is said to be millions of years old. Its name comes from the legend that says it used to be a refuge for bandits.
Sahastradhara
Sahastradhara, which means “Thousand Fold Spring,” is a beautiful natural spring. It is a peaceful escape into nature that is well-known for its sulphur-rich waters that are believed to have healing properties. The water flows over the limestone rocks and creates small and sparkling streams. Surrounded by luscious greenery, it is perfect for picnics and relaxation. You can also take a scenic ropeway ride for amazing views of the hills and valleys.


Deer Park (Dehradun Zoo)
Formerly known as Malsi Deer Park, Dehradun Zoo is a great spot to visit on a Dehradun in 1 day. Located on Mussoorie Road, this mini zoo is perfect for family outings. It is home to herds of deer, birds, and other animals like the Neelgai. The park also offers fun rides and games for kids, which makes it a popular weekend destination.
Shikhar Fall
Shikhar Fall is a hidden gem in Dehradun, located about 13 kilometres from the city. This waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and rich wildlife, including various birds and butterflies. To reach the main waterfall, you are required to trek through a shallow pool and enjoy smaller falls along the way.


Shiv Mandir
Also known as Shri Prakasheshwar Mahadev Mandir, Shiv Mandir is a must-visit spot among the places to visit in Dehradun in 1 day. Located on Mussoorie Road, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is set in the lush green valleys of Dehradun. The main attraction of the temple is the Sphatik Shivlinga. You can enjoy free prasad at the daily Bhandara and shop for gems and jewellery, especially during Shivratri and Saawan.
Mindrolling Monastery
One of the most famous places to visit in Dehradun, Mindrolling Monastery is among the six major monasteries of Tibet’s Nyingma School. Originally constructed in 1676 by Rigzin Terdak Lingpa, the monastery was re-established in 1965 by Khochhen Rinpoche. Highly significant to tourists as well as religious visitors, the place is regarded as an architectural masterpiece.


Forest Research Institute
Established in 1906, the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun, is an icon of excellence in forestry research and teaching. Nestled in the tranquil Himalayan foothills, this iconic institution is world-renowned for its groundbreaking contributions to forestry science and environmental conservation.
Lachhiwala
Surrounded by Sal trees, accompanied by deciduous shrubs, and shimmering with the cold waters of Susma river, Lachhiwala is known as a Nature Park. The highlight of the picnic spot is its pool which is quite an attraction for nature lovers. Soak in the sunlight while swimming in the man-made pools of Lachhiwala.


Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park is both a national park as well as a tiger reserve which ranks high amongst the Places to see in Haridwar. The park was created by the amalgamation of 3 sanctuaries- Rajaji, Motichur and Chilla. The park is located in the Shivalik range of Himalayas and spreads over 820kms.
